The programme will help China improve its contribution to global health and achieve the potential of its collaboration. GHSP is scheduled to be implemented from 2012 to 2017 with a total budget of £12 million. |

The Second Symposium on Surveillance Response System Leading to Tropical Diseases Elimination Held in Shanghai
In Memory of the 140th Anniversary in Discovery of Clonorchis Sinensis Infection |
In order to establish and strengthen surveillance and response system on tropical diseases and to accelerate the global elimination process on tropical diseases, supported by China-UK Global Health Programme, National Institute of Parasitic Diseases, China CDC, together with Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute and WHO, held the Second Symposium on Surveillance and Response System on Tropical Diseases Elimination in Shanghai in 16-17 June, 2014. Periodic Progress of policy analysis on the first "Two Programs" |
From 1990"s, the Government of China formulated and issued National Program of Action for Child Development in China, and Program for the Development of Chinese Women ("Two Programs"), which should be updated every 10 years. Based on these two programs, maternal and child health has been included into China national social-economic development planning. At the same time, the Chinese Government also accumulated rich successful experience on improving maternal and child health. So, historically analyzing the policy process of China"s Two Programs to understand the related ins and outs, is an important context in GHSP OP1 Sub-Program. [OP102]

Peking University School of Public Health Launched Anthropological Study on China"s Health Aid to Uganda |
China has provided health development aid to Africa for more than 50 years. China"s health development aid to Africa meets some challenges with the effectiveness of health aid in particular. To tackle those issues, Peking University School of Public Health has designed an anthropological study on the process and effectiveness of China"s health aid to Africa by taking Uganda as a country example for the study. From July 18th to 26th, 2014, a research team led by Professor Tuohong Zhang and Professor Zeqi Qiu visited Uganda for pilot study. [OP201]
