Promote Safe Motherhood in Rural Ethiopia ------Findings from Collaborative Efforts on Maternal and Reproductive Health
Abstract
This is the final evaluation report prepared by Global Health Institute, Fudan University, which presents main findings of the GHSP-CS-OP4-V01 project in Ethiopia. The project aimed to increase health awareness, improve service access and ensure the quality of services on reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health. Our findings showed that the project contributed to increasing service utilization and improving maternal and newborn health outcome. The success is mainly due to collaborative efforts from Marie Stopes International (MSI), the local government of Gonji Kolela in Ethiopia, and Global Health Institute of Fudan University. In the end, we proposed six specific recommendations to the local government in Ethiopia for further improvement.
