The 4^th China-UK Global Health Dialogue was held in Beijing on 12^th July, 2017. Altogether nearly 40 representatives attended the meeting, including those from the Department of International Cooperation of National Health and Family Planning Commission(NHFPC), Department of Planning and Information of NHFPC, Bureau of Medical Administration of NHFPC, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC), Programme Management Office of GHSP (Center for Project Supervision and Management of NHFPC), and Department for International Development (DFID), UK Department of Health, Public Health England and the British Embassy in Beijing. Ms. Zhang Yang, Director General of the department of International Cooperation from NHFPC and Professor Charlotte Watts, Chief Scientific Adviser to DFID attended the meeting and addressed.

During the Dialogue, both Chinese and British sides reviewed their working progress since the latest dialogue and discussed in depth the global health issues such as global health governance, health policy, working together on health in Africa, infectious disease prevention and antibiotic resistance. Taking the GHSP as the representative, the meeting fully affirmed the cooperation effectiveness of the China-UK global health in the first phase, and reached a preliminary consensus on further deepening bilateral cooperation in the second phase.

Around the main topics of the dialogue, some members of the British delegation visited two implementing agencies of GHSP in Shanghai on 10 July before the meeting, including National Institute of Parasitic Diseases (NIPD) of China CDC and School of Public Health of Fudan University (SPHFU). They had informal discussions with experts and staff on global health and GHSP implementation from two agencies. On the morning of 12 July, all members of the British delegation held a global health work exchange with China CDC. They had conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges about the disease control cooperation in Africa and health security issues.

The success of holding the dialogue has deepened the understanding and mutual trust between the Chinese and British governments in the field of health, and laid a solid foundation for better global health cooperation in the future. The China-UK Global Health Dialogue is an important activity of GHSP and held by turn in China and Britain. Since March 2013, the dialogue has been held for 4 times.
